And they do have good development teams, and there may be some organizational problems that prevent the two teams from merging. I have Scrivener, but I just don't use it. My irritation with Scrivener is that for compiling it can get very complicated. LibreOffice is one that runs on many platforms. There's tons of software out there that's great on either platform. The Mac side has the advantages of tools baked into MacOS.
